Why was my document rejected?

Name mismatch

The name on your document doesn't match the name on your Housebets account. Check that your account details are correct. If your legal name has changed, contact support.

Expired document

Expired IDs are not accepted. Please use a valid, in-date document. If your only ID is expired, you'll need to renew it before completing verification.

Poor image quality

The photo was blurry, too dark, had glare, or the document edges were cut off. Retake the photo following our photo guidelines and resubmit.

Photocopy or scan of a copy

We require original documents — not a scan of a scan. Photograph the physical document directly.

Wrong document type

Only government-issued photo ID is accepted. Student cards, gym memberships, and similar documents are not valid.

Proof of address issues

Common reasons proof of address is rejected:

  • Document is more than 3 months old

  • The address on the document doesn't match the address you registered with

  • The name on the document is a family member's, not yours

What to do after a rejection

Check your email — we'll specify the reason. Gather a new document that meets the requirements and resubmit through the Verification tab. If you're unsure what went wrong, contact live support before resubmitting.
